Farming of Arctic Charr
in Iceland started in 1989. Output has increased steadily since the start as the industry has gained experience. Today Iceland
is the biggest producer of Arctic Charr in the world our farm has been involved in production, marketing and sales from the
beginning.
It
takes around 2 years for the Arctic Charr to reach market size from hatchery. We are producing sizes of up to 1,5 kg for the
US market while other smaller farms are producing sizes of around 800 grams for the European market.
